Blessingway:

Show the mother to be just how much you care about her and support her by sponsoring a Blessingway Ceremony.  Help her celebrate her transformation into becoming a mother or a mother again.

In the Blessingway Ceremony that I offer guests are asked not to bring gifts, but instead are asked to bring two beads that have meaning behind them.  During the ceremony the meaning is shared and the beads are formed into a bracelet or necklace for the mother to be.  The guests are also asked to bring along a few words of wisdom that will be shared with the mother to be.

The ceremony begins with the mother receiving a foot bath and then massage (from a licensed massage therapist) while guests are arriving, mingling, and talking.  After a little pampering for mom the group sits and each person shares the two beads they brought and the reason they chose each bead.  Then the beads are strung into either a bracelet or necklace for mom to wear while in labor, or to be used as a focal point during labor to remind her of all the love and support that her family and friends have to offer her.

The next thing that we will do is to create a belly cast where each woman that attends will take turns applying some wet gauze strips to moms belly.  Typically we do only a belly cast and do not include breasts, but that is at the mother's discretion.

The final event of the day/evening is sharing our words of wisdom.  With this event each woman takes a turn sharing her words of wisdom and as she does she will light a candle.  After each candle has been lit and all words shared the candles are blown out and each attendee leaves with a candle.  This candle can then be lit either when mom is in labor or after she calls to say the baby has arrived to show support for the new family that is forming or that has already formed.

Price for Blessingway: $150.  The Blessingway fee includes all foot soak materials and foot massage provided by a licensed massage therapist (this process takes about 20-30 minutes), bracelet/necklace stringing material (beads NOT included - guests bring the beads), belly casting materials and process, and candles for each guest.  The event can be held either in your home / place of choice or within my office located in South Milwaukee.
